Heidi Schertzer

Hi, my name is Heidi. My husband and I have two children. We have been a part of the Watch Me Swim family since 2019, when my son started lessons with Ms. Kari when he was nine months old.  I always wanted to be more than just a parent watching their child go through self-rescue tasks, but the timing, it just wasn’t right. 2013 I graduated from USF with my bachelor’s degree in child development. My career background has been in preschools as a teacher to the director and everything in between. In 2021 when a personal connection of knowing someone who lost their child to a drowning incident, I knew I wanted to be a part of something bigger and start working in our community to provide life-saving skills to children to prevent childhood drowning. Finally, the time has come, and I am thrilled to be a part of the Watch Me Swim family as an instructor. I am grateful to have been chosen to receive an instructor training scholarship from Water Smart Tots. I look forward to giving back and making a difference within my community.
